WIP’s … Oh boy …

So, I have a confession. I’m not so great at embroidering… Like, I’m pretty terrible at it. Awful, really. And as I sit, staring at my finished tardis inspired cup cozy for my mother I’m cringing at the sight of it. (If you are unfamiliar with the term tardis, it’s from the television show Doctor Who.) The uneven lines, the crooked letters, the horrendous spacing… I’m contemplating not giving it to her. I’ll have to start the letters over and give it another try. To truly appreciate my embarrassment here are some pictures:

I mean, it’s legible but… I wanna cry😢.
In other news…
Better news…
I’m in the process of making a baby toy… Blanket… Thing. A lovey/snuggly, if you will, that will be going to a cousin who’s baby is due at the end of the month. It’s crochet with alternating rows of double and single crochet and I’ve only got a portion of it done but it’s going pretty fast (even with my snail-like pace).

The animal head and arms will be attached to the corner of the blanket after they are made.  I’m not following a pattern for the blanket portion since I didn’t want anything to complicated, but I will be finding an amigurumi animal pattern to complete this toy. All in all it’s been a nice and relaxing project.

And last, but not  least, we have the beginnings of a sock! It’s my first attempt at knitting a sock and so far the double pointed needles have actually been kind to me. I know that there are a lot of knitters that don’t like them or can’t seem to get the hang of them. I’ve been lucky enough to have used them for finishing (or starting) hats so they are familiar already. So far I’ve gotten the cuff and heel flap done and am upon the heel turn but since I have kids that seem require my undivided attention for most of the day I haven’t been able to work on it as much as I would like to.

As you can see my 2-year-old was still trying to get my attention as I was trying to get a picture😂.
Anyway, that’s about it for my “in progress” projects! On to the finish line!
